The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, confirmed that the organization called on countries of the world to continue working with the isolation restrictions imposed to confront Corona.
He stressed during a press conference that lifting restrictions without controlling the virus would be a “recipe for disaster.”
Tedros acknowledged that many people are fed up with the restrictions and are seeking to return to normal life eight months after the outbreak of the epidemic.
“We want to see children go back to school and people return to the workplace, but we want to see this done safely,” he added.
He continued: “No country can pretend that the epidemic is over … The truth is that this virus spreads easily … Lifting restrictions without control is a recipe for disaster.”
