WHO explains the recent boom in the number of cases of COVID-19 infections

WHO director Tedros Adhanom Gebresus considered that some of the last Covid-19 infections around the world are partly due to “youth giving not taking precautions,” stressing, however, that life should not stop.

“We have mentioned this before and we repeat once again: Young people are not immune (against the virus),” Gypressus said at a press conference Thursday in Geneva.

He added: “The recent upsurge in the number of infections caused by the youth abandoned caution with the arrival of summer in the northern hemisphere.”

Life should not stop because of Corona, and we must learn to live with the virus, Gabriessuis said.

Gebresos sent a message to the youth of the world in the beginnings of the Corona crisis in March, in which he confirmed that the virus may infect them and even kill them.

The world health organization has previously confirmed that young people should avoid contact with the elderly and groups most vulnerable to infection and the transmission of the virus to them, but reports in many countries indicated that young people do not comply with health warnings.
