In a statement, “UNRWA” announced that “the results of the random examinations of Covid-19 that were carried out on 6 July in the Rashidiyeh camp had resulted in positive results to three people, including an employee of the Agency, who is currently adhering to the home quarantine.”
Today, “UNRWA, in close coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, conducted 59 examinations that particularly included close relatives and people who were in contact with the three people whose results were positive. The checks also included some UNRWA staff, with the results to be announced on Monday, July 13.
Meanwhile, UNRWA asked all of its staff who had been in contact with people who had come as a result of their positive checks, a commitment to home quarantine.
She assured the camp’s residents that it was “doing everything necessary in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and all the parties concerned,” and reminded “everyone of the necessity of strict adherence to all preventive measures, including physical distance, gagging and hand sanitization.”
It announced that it “will take all necessary measures for medical isolation if necessary”, and renewed “its commitment to cover all medical expenses related to the Coronavirus within the framework of its approved policy, and will continue to follow all developments and issue regular updates.”
